Royals seek Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s support

Published

Recent events have ignited discussions surrounding the decision to allow Harry and Meghan to step back from their roles within the monarchy.

Amidst a backdrop of conspiracy theories and heightened scrutiny, recent missteps by the Palace communications team have only fueled further speculation.

Concerns over Kate’s health and the state of her marriage have added to the chaos, prompting reflection on the handling of Harry and Meghan’s departure.

The current turmoil has shed light on perceptions of the royal family’s strategic capabilities, revealing potential weaknesses in their approach to preserving the Crown.

Critics argue that the decision to let them go has left the institution vulnerable, particularly considering their star power and ability to connect with Commonwealth nations.

Some suggest that retaining their presence within the Firm could have bolstered its ranks and mitigated current challenges.

Recent reports suggest that King Charles has been advocating for a streamlined monarchy, aiming to reduce the size and scope of the royal family.

However, this proposal has sparked debate and criticism, with some questioning the wisdom of further concentrating power and privilege within an already exclusive group.

David Beckham’s kids approve photo before posting

David Beckham had to get approval from his kids before posting a picture on social media ahead of Victoria Beckham’s Fashion Show in Paris.

The 49-year-old former soccer star, humorously noted in the caption of an Instagram post that he had to ask for “approval” from his children—Romeo, 22, Cruz, 19, and Harper, 13— before he shared the photo, which featured the Beckhams posing in style before heading off to Victoria’s fashion show in Paris.

The chic snapshot had Romeo dressed in all-black, with his arm wrapped around Harper, who looked gorgeous in a baby pink slip gown and sandals.

The two siblings pose side-by-side as David looks at them with love, donning a navy suit and tie, with Cruz beaming broadly in a baggy-fit button-down and trousers.

“On the way to Mum’s show and trying to get a picture was a little challenging. ‘Dad before you post it we all have to approve,’ “ the Beckham star wrote along the picture.

Brooklyn, 25, and his wife Nicole, 29, were not seen in the picture, but as per People, joined the family afterwards.

Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko ‘having fun’ together

Brooks Nader and Gleb Savchenko, who are partners on Dancing With the Stars, seem to be dating, but on a lighter note.

The season 33 castmates are “hooking up,” according to a source via Us Weekly, which also shared, “It’s casual for now, and they’re both just having fun.”

The insider’s reports come after Nader, a model mostly famous for her appearances in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, and Savchenko, who has himself in the 11th season of the dance competition show, ignited rumours of romance or a relationship after fans started noting their flirty behaviour with each other.

The speculations increased when a TikTok video went viral earlier this week, featuring the pair getting intimate backstage at the show.

“Brooks and Gleb have been very flirtatious from the beginning of rehearsals,” the source added to their reports. “They aren’t dating, but they’re enjoying spending time together and getting to know each other.”

Nader has opened up on her chemistry with Savchenko earlier.

“I think that when you have that energy in real life, it’s easy to bring it to the dance floor every week,” the 28-year-old model said after performing a tango to Britney Spears’ Piece of Me with him on the show on September 17.

She added, “That will be a theme throughout the season. But it’s a huge bonus to actually really be into your partner. You have to be with this person sweaty and on top of them all day for five hours. Every day — not just show day. So it’s kind of nice that you like each other.”

Ellen DeGeneres on father’s OCD and multiple health conditions

Ellen DeGeneres shared thinking her father may have had OCD, while talking about being diagnosed with multiple health conditions she has been experiencing while getting older.

The host revealed, in her final Netflix special For Your Approval, that she was diagnosed with OCD while she was in therapy, which she started after facing toxic workplace allegations.

“I may have OCD because a therapist said so and I said, ‘Yes I am very organised,’ because I thought that was the O,” DeGeneres shared.

“I didn’t know what OCD was. I was raised in a religion, Christian Science, that doesn’t acknowledge diseases or disorders. So when I was growing up, nobody talked about anything. There was no discussion of anything.”

The comedian then related the symptoms to her father, and concluded he may have had the condition too.

“I look back now and I realise my dad for sure had OCD,” she added. “He would check the doorknob 15 times before we’d leave, he’d check the faucet 15 times, he would unplug all the appliances before we left the house because lightning could strike and it could catch fire. They say it could be hereditary.”

She also shared being diagnosed with “full-on” osteoporosis, and arthritis.

“I don’t even know how I’m standing up right now. I’m like a human sandcastle. I could disintegrate in the shower,” DeGeneres quipped.

Daniel Radcliffe on meeting late Dame Maggie Smith first time as a kid

Daniel Radcliffe recalled his first meeting with his late Harry Potter star, Dame Maggie Smith, when he was just a kid, after the actress died on Friday, September 27 at the age of 89.

The 35-year-old Radcliffe and Smith are mostly famous amongst fans for playing “The Boy Who Lived” and “Professor Minerva McGonagall” in the eight J.K. Rowling’s novel-adopted film series.

But the actor reminisced how he first met Smith on the set of the 1999 BBC miniseries David Copperfield.

“The first time I met Maggie Smith I was 9 years old and we were reading through scenes for David Copperfield, which was my first job,” Radcliffe shared with Us Weekly on Friday.

“I knew virtually nothing about her other than that my parents were awestruck at the fact that I would be working with her.”

He recalled, “The other thing I knew about her was that she was a Dame, so the first thing I asked her when we met was, ‘Would you like me to call you Dame?’ at which she laughed and said something to the effect of ‘don’t be ridiculous!’”

The star remembered how he first felt “nervous to meet her”, but was later put “at ease” by the actress.

“She was incredibly kind to me on that shoot, and then I was lucky enough to go on working with her for another 10 years on the Harry Potter films,” he gushed.

“She was a fierce intellect, a gloriously sharp tongue, could intimidate and charm in the same instant and was, as everyone will tell you, extremely funny. I will always consider myself amazingly lucky to have been able to work with her, and to spend time around her on set.”

“The word legend is overused but if it applies to anyone in our industry then it applies to her,” Radcliffe said of Smith.

“Thank you Maggie,” he added in the end.
