Lindsay Ell recalls trying to become ‘country enough’, ‘tried to fit myself in’

Lindsay Ell on country music journey

Lindsay Ell got candid on “everything” she has been through.

“I saw everything I’ve been through like surviving sexual assault and eating disorders and being through countless bad relationships, don’t even get me started, I would just view them as badges that I was wearing to be like, ‘OK, world hit me. I can take it,’” she told People in a recent interview.

“But I think that that kind of attitude almost encourages the chaos. It almost welcomes more of it. And [now] I’m like, ‘I don’t think life needs to be lived like that.’”

Lindsay Ell, who relocated from Canada to Nashville 15 years ago to pursue her country music career, also reflected on her journey in the industry.

Now officially an American citizen as of 2022, Ell opened up about the challenges she faced early on, admitting that she often felt pressured to “fit into a box and follow the rules.” Looking back, the singer recognizes how far she’s come in embracing her true self and evolving as an artist.

“I had a whole team that was just like, ‘Lindsay you’re not country enough. You’re not country enough. You’re not country enough.’ And so I tried to fit myself in, but I’m like, ‘I don’t even like beer. Why should I write songs about it? I don’t even like it,’” Ell reminisced.

The country artist is currently looking forward to the release of her upcoming EP, Love Myself, out Oct. 25.

‘Unsafe’ Sydney Sweeney on security ‘risk’ because of Paparazzi

Sydney Sweeney on ‘safety’ danger because of Paparazzi

Sydney Sweeney is concerned about her “safety” because of the Paparazzi.

The Euphoria star recalled a recent clash with desperate shutterbugs, in a new profile for Glamour as part of its “Women of the Year” series, when they tried to make a bargain with her family in return for actress’ bikini pictures.

“They said, ‘If you tell her to just come outside in a bikini, I’ll take pictures and then I’ll leave you alone,’” she recalled about how they badgered outside her Florida home and refused to leave the property until they got what they wanted.

Although Sweeney didn’t specify exactly when the incident occurred, it’s possible she was referencing a few articles published by Page Six in early June.

At the time, when the pictures began circulating on social media, Sweeney noted that people speculated she had called the paparazzi herself.

“Why would I call the paparazzi to take pictures of me at my own house when my baby cousins and family are there and I’m in my backyard? Why would I ever want that? I have pictures of these guys in kayaks hiding in bushes in the ocean. They got there at 8 a.m. and wouldn’t leave until 4 p.m. I should be able to be in my home and feel comfortable and safe,” the Anyone But You actress complained.

Sweeney also reflected on how the stalking creates a non-safe environment for her.

“When those photos go out, then my actual safety is at risk,” the Emmy nominee added.

“Everyone knows where I am. Now there’s boats that go by, and I literally hear them say, ‘This is Sydney Sweeney’s house.’ It becomes a star tour in my front yard.”

Rachel Sennott on ‘Saturday Night’ experience

Rachel Sennott got candid on the “freeing” experience of starring in Saturday Night.

In a conversation with People, 29-year-old Rachel Sennott opened up about her experience preparing for her role in the upcoming film, which captures the intense moments leading up to the first live episode of Saturday Night Live in 1975.

Sennott plays Rosie Shuster, one of the original SNL writers and the former wife of the show’s creator, Lorne Michaels.

She shared how immersing herself in Shuster’s story allowed her to gain a deeper understanding of the creative genius behind the iconic comedy show.

“I got to talk to Rosie, and she’s amazing,” Sennott said of the comedian, who penned for SNL in the ’70s and ’80s. “She’s so cool, and smart, and funny, and I think I’m going to meet her in person for the first time at the premiere.”

“Just talking to her on the phone, of course there’s still pressure,” she said, remembering her first interaction with Shuster. “But more than anything, I was just excited. Because I was like, I want everyone to know [about her].”

“This is my first time in a movie being like chill,” she quipped about representing Shuster’s story with audiences.

“I’m never chill. I’m always having a panic attack. And in real life, I’m always having a panic attack.”

“So, it’s so freeing to step into someone who’s so confident, and in control. And so, I hope she likes it, and feels seen. But I just wanted to share her story with people, because I feel like she’s such an integral part in making SNL what it is today,” the Bottoms star added.

“And I don’t know if everyone is familiar with her, so, I’m excited for them to see that.”

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs infamously took a teenage Justin Bieber under his wing

Sean “Diddy” Combs once scolded Justin Bieber for almost exposing him on national TV during their 2012 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

During the interview, Bieber — just 16 at the time — discussed his bond with Combs, which the disgraced music mogul described as “like a little brother.”

Combs, 54, explained, “He’s not afraid to call and ask for advice. He’s a great kid, and a lot of us want to protect him.”

As the conversation continued, Kimmel joked that Combs should gift Bieber a car, to which the Baby singer responded by revealing, “He got me a Lamborghini, but I just haven’t gotten it yet.”

Looking annoyed, Combs responded with a warning, “He had the Lamborghini for a day or two and he got access to the house, and he knows better than to talk about the thing he does with big brother Puff national television. Everything ain’t for everybody.”

Their close bond was highlighted in a 2009 YouTube video where the two spent 48 hours together, with Combs telling Bieber, “We’re going full buck crazy.” Details about their time together were kept vague, with Combs hinting, “It’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream.”

As Combs now faces serious charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering, Bieber’s rep stated that the singer, now 30, is “aware of Diddy’s arrest” but remains focused on his family life as a father and husband.
