King Charles takes new step for addressing environmental concerns

King Charles will convert Bentleys in the Royal fleet to run exclusively on biofuels

King Charles is advancing his net zero plans by converting two Bentley state cars to run on biofuels, with future intentions to introduce electric vehicles.

Starting next year, it is anticipated that King Charles will convert two Bentleys within the Royal fleet to operate exclusively on biofuels.

This development follows the release of annual accounts for the Royal Household earlier today, revealing that the monarchy will receive an additional £45 million in funding for the fiscal year 2025-26 due to increased profits from six new offshore wind farms.

Among the Royal fleet are two state-of-the-art Bentley State Limousines presented to the late Queen Elizabeth II during her Golden Jubilee in 2002.

These vehicles are designed with robust security features, including blast-resistant cabins and the capability to seal air-tight in the event of a gas attack.

The vehicles, sponsored by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), were delivered to the Royal Family on May 29, 2022, in recognition of the late Queen’s service and as a tribute to British manufacturing.

Originally capable of running on liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to extend their range and significantly reduce emissions, according to the Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace, these vehicles were designed with reinforced Kevlar tires to minimize risks during emergencies and maintain high-speed capability.

Sir Michael Stevens, keeper of the privy purse, said the new changes were “small steps” but acknowledged the “significant impact” it would have on carbon emissions.

He added: “The two existing State Bentleys will undergo refurbishment in the coming year to enable them to run on biofuel.

“This is likely to be an interim measure as we begin discussions around the next generation of State vehicles being fully electrified,” The Times reported.

Model Jenny Shimizu on dating Madonna

Model Jenny Shimizu got candid on how it felt to date Madonna in the ’90s.

“I mean, you’re not gonna say no to Madonna in the ’90s,” the 57-year-old said in the last episode of the documentary series In Vogue: The 90s, which dropped on Hulu Friday, September 20. “Not only was it great feeling like a high-class hooker, because really it was.”

Shimizu rose to prominence in the early 1990s through her modelling profession. While employed as a mechanic, she got the opportunity to model for Calvin Klein in magazine commercials before rising to the runway.

Shimizu made history by becoming the first Asian model to walk for Prada and the first person of colour to open the show.

The diva shared that during the period she and the now 66-year-old Queen of Pop were dating, the latter would call her to meetup at extravagant global locations.

“You’d get a phone call like, ‘Hey, can you meet me at my Paris show? You’re in Europe, right?’ So I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I’m just finishing Prada. Right after Prada, I’ll catch a plane over,’” she shared in the doc. “And I would. I’d go over to her hotel, to the Ritz, at, like, 4 in the morning, [get private] and then fly back to Milan.”

However, as People reported, Madonna and Shimizu’s romance was pretty short-term.

Ellen DeGeneres on going to ‘therapy’ because of ‘hatred’

Ellen DeGeneres seems pretty affected by “all the hatred” the host received after being accused of creating a toxic work environment on her daily show and getting “cancelled”, which eventually sent her to “therapy”, as she in her last standup on Netflix.

“I was in therapy for a while trying to deal with all the hatred that was coming at me. It was not a common situation for a therapist to deal with,” DeGeneres said in the comedy special For Your Approval.

“At one point, my therapist said, ‘Ellen where do you get this idea that everyone hates you?’ And I said, ‘Well, New York Times, The Washington Post, Entertainment Weekly, Us Weekly, I think Elmo may have said something recently on an episode of Sesame Street.”

DeGeneres continued, “She said, ‘Well I think you just need to avoid looking at the news, just avoid media.’ I said, ‘I am. I’m not looking at anything.’ But I would always know when something was going on because I’d start getting texts from friends saying thinking of you or sending love.”

Courteney Cox and David Arquette were married from 1999 to 2013

Courteney Cox isn’t ready to let go of her ex-husband David Arquette’s Dewey Riley just yet.

In a recent interview with Variety, the Friends alum, 60, expressed her hope for David Arquette’s beloved Scream character to make a return, despite his tragic death in Scream 5 (2022).

“I understand the reasons they did it, but whoa! Talk about a missed character,” Cox said during a charity event in Malibu on Sept. 21.

She emphasised, “Dewey is so loved by Scream fans. They have to figure it out.”

Though Scream 7 is confirmed following the massive success of Scream VI earlier this year, Arquette downplayed any chances of Dewey’s return. When asked about reprising his role in a possible flashback, Arquette said on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, “I don’t think so… I haven’t gotten any calls or anything.”

Cox, who hasn’t yet officially signed on for Scream 7, did reveal that the script is constantly being updated, though she remains in the loop. She’s also thrilled that Scream creator Kevin Williamson will direct the upcoming film, saying, “You can’t get better than that choice…”

Whoopi Goldberg supports Taylor Swift after Travis Kelce’s fans slammed her

Whoopi Goldberg has recently spoken in favour of Taylor Swift after Travis Kelce’s fans blamed the singer for her boyfriend’s “sluggish start”.

Earlier, Travis reportedly appeared miserable on the sideline in a clip which went viral on September 22 as the songstress was not seen at the game for the first time.

Some football fans were quick to slam Taylor for “taking his mind off the game”.

Whoopi defended the singer and said on her The View show, “Grow up, y’all! Grow up! Stop putting this on her. Your team is fine, your team is doing well. Shut up!”

The Sister Act star continued, “It’s insane. Listen, this is a guy whose doing movies now, he’s doing television commercials, he’s doing all kinds of stuff.”

“He might have been a little busy, and maybe he’s not 12 anymore, okay? He’s still a viable player,’” stated the show’s host.

Whoopi believed that it was Donald Trump supporters who lashes out at the singer.

“I am blaming MAGA. I think it’s them because they’re mad, she is not supporting you-know-who. They’re putting all of this on her!” she noted.

Another co-host Sunny Hostin agreed with Whoopi and said, “I love your point, though. It’s probably the crazy MAGA people that are upset about this.”

Whoopi however pointed out, “Yeah, because why else would this suddenly be an issue?”

“And she’s also busy! Sorry y’all, she’s not thinking about him!” claimed the Ghost actress.
