Jamie Lee Curtis opens up about seeing Lindsay Lohan in ‘mom mode’

Jamie Lee Curtis has recently expressed her happiness for seeing Lindsay Lohan in a “mom mode”.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the bi-annual Children’s Hospital Los Angeles 2024 Gala on October 5, the Freaky Friday actress praised Lindsay as a mother as they filmed their upcoming sequel, Freakier Friday.

“The whole thing was fun, just from all areas of it,” said Jamie about her reunion with Lindsay who shares one-year-old Luai with her husband Bader Shammas.

The Oscar winner stated, “She just loves it. It’s actually very hard to pull her away from mom mode.”

Jamie, who is a mother of two herself, mentioned that Lindsay “did not bring her son to set, though he and her husband would pick her up from work almost every day”.

“Bader and Luai came and would wait for her in her trailer, and then they all go home together,” she remarked.

Earlier in August, Jamie and Lindsay attended Disney’s D23 fan event showcase in Anaheim, California and spoke to PEOPLE, sharing who they would trade places with if they had the opportunity to do a body swap, like the one in their movie.

“Anyone? Maybe my baby… Just to see — because he is, so pure and just so happy, just to see life through his eyes, every day. He’s just this beautiful bundle of joy. I can’t think of anything else,” replied the Mean Girls actress.

Meanwhile, Jamie mentioned WNBA star Caitlin Clark, adding, “I wanna play basketball like Caitlin Clark… She’s my lucky number, 22.”

Olivia Munn on not being able to go through ‘mom wraps’

Olivia Munn still hasn’t figured out one common mom-hack.

On Sunday, October 6, the X-Men: Apocalypse star, posted a video on Instagram asking fellow mothers for tips on properly using a baby wrap.

In the video, she explained how she wanted to ensure her 3-week-old daughter, Méi, could be safely close to her chest while walking around.

“I know I’m doing this wrong, which is why I’m not letting her go,” Munn started the video, which featured her standing in her kitchen looking casual in a white T-shirt and glasses and holding Méi in a patterned wrap.

“But I have wanted to do one of these mom wraps since Malcolm was a baby, but I could never figure it out. It’s so difficult,” she continued, talking about the couple’s 2-year-old son.

“If you don’t know what this is, it’s a big, long cloth that you wrap around and it holds your baby tight to you and you can be hands-free — but I just can’t figure it out.”

Munn praised mothers who have mastered the skill, calling them “queens,” and admitted she’s still on the lookout for the best tutorial to help her securely wrap her daughter.

“This is so difficult. It’s more difficult than origami,” she continued. “It is so crazy. I don’t know how to do this. I’ve watched every YouTube, Instagram, TikTok. And moms will tell you that it’s not difficult but it is. It’s so hard.”

Some mom-fans offered help.

“Is there a sling/wrap library near you?” one came to help in the comments section. “I went to one and the ladies helped me to figure it out and showed me different options. If you struggle with the wrap, you could always use a carrier. You can find ones suitable for newborns and they are very easy to use.”

Andrew Garfield on filming ‘We Live in Time’s with Florence Pugh

Andrew Garfield shed some light on his comfortable relationship with Florence Pugh on the set of their new movie We Live in Time.

During a discussion on Friday at 92NY, the Golden Globe winner recalled filming one “very intimate, passionate sex scene” with Pugh on a closed set, where the cinematographer Stuart Bentley had to look away.

“The scene becomes passionate, as we choreographed it,” he said, as per Deadline.

“And we get into it as it were, and we go a little bit further than we were meant to because we didn’t hear ‘cut’ and it’s feeling safe. And we’re just kinda like, ‘Ok, we’ll just go into the next thing, we’ll let this progress, and we’ll just carry on.’

Garfield added, “And at a certain point, both of us, we’re both kind of telepathically saying to each other, ‘This definitely feels like a longer take.’ … I look up, and in the corner is Stuart and our boom operator. Stuart has the camera by his side and he’s turned into the wall.”

This may have been a result of the “safe” environment on the set of the movie, for which Pugh praised director John Crawley at the movie’s world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival last month.

“I wouldn’t have been able to do any of the stuff without the safety. Neither of us would be here without John’s space that he provided for us,” she said.

Reese Witherspoon shares inisight into her life as a single mother in her late 20s

Reese Witherspoon has recently shared “a-ha” moments in her life as a single mother in her late 20s.

Speaking at Hello Sunshine’s second annual Shine Away event in Los Angeles on October 5, the Sweet Home Alabama actress responded to a question about finding her voice, via PEOPLE.

Reese noted, “There are so many moments before sharing that what I love about Hello Sunshine is that we look for stories that women saved themselves.”

“Because every woman in this room has saved herself, be it financial situation, an education situation, a bad relationship, you had to save yourself,” remarked the 48-year-old.

The Legally Blonde star mentioned, “There’s a moment in all of our lives when you realise, no wait, no one’s coming to help, no one’s coming to make that decision.”

“For me, I have to make that decision. I’ve had a lot of those,” she continued.

Reese added, “Being a single mom when I was in my late twenties, I had to make a lot of decisions for my two kids and a lot of financial decisions, too.”

The mother-of-three opened up about a moment of realisation in her life, explaining, “I had four employees and I couldn’t keep the lights on. I remember the accountant calling me going, you didn’t make enough money producing those three things to keep four employees.”

“And I was like, ‘I’m doing something wrong,” stated The Wild actress at the time.

Reese pointed out, “The other thing was that I think it was an important moment for me to realize there’s things I didn’t know and I had to reach out for help, and that’s when I had a friend help me create a business plan.”

“It’s also good to know what you’re not good at, and I know what I’m really good at, but it’s also important to go, ‘I’m not good at something,’” she dished.

James Middleton discusses mental health advocacy and family support.

James Middleton, the brother of Kate Middleton, has discussed the pressure he felt when his sister began dating Prince William, which thrust him into the public eye.

In a revealing piece for the Telegraph, James opened up about his struggles with mental health over the years, expressing gratitude for the support he has received from his sister and brother-in-law.

Reflecting on his challenges,  admitted, “I fouhend my 20s really challenging. I’ve only figured out who I am after going through depression.”

He emphasized that while he wishes he hadn’t faced such difficulties, they ultimately helped him appreciate the good times in life.

James revealed that the heightened attention accompanying Catherine and William’s relationship led him to feel “famous by default,” a situation he never chose.

“There was added pressure when Kate and William started dating,” he noted.

Last month, James opened up about his mental health journey in an interview with the Mirror, ahead of the release of his tell-all memoir, Meet Ella: The Dog Who Saved My Life.

In this account, he reveals the depths of his struggles, including suicidal thoughts, and how his beloved cocker spaniel, Ella, played a crucial role in pulling him back from the brink.

The memoir not only explores his personal battles but also highlights the unwavering support he has received from his family, particularly his sister, Kate.

James recalled how he first confided in his loved ones about his struggles in 2017 before bravely speaking out publicly in 2019.

He stated, When I first pub”licly spoke about my depression, they were launching their Heads Together charity, and that was great for me to learn and understand and have a platform.

I didn’t believe I was allowed to have mental health or depression, and that work was a good catalyst for me to want to speak out.”

James emphasized the importance of family support during difficult times, saying, “we are a close family, and through the experiences of my mental health and challenges we’ve faced over the years, we’ve learned to be a support for each other.”
