The ICC have confirmed the dates for next year’s ICC World Test Championship final at Lord’s.

The one-off Test will take place at the iconic London venue from 11th to 15th June 2025, with 16th June available as a reserve day if needed.

This will be the first time Lord’s has hosted the World Test Championship final, with Southampton and The Oval serving as the venues for the first (2021) and second (2023) editions, won by New Zealand and Australia respectively.

The match will feature the top two sides in the standings at the conclusion of the current cycle, with Rohit Sharma’s India currently leading ahead of reigning champions Australia.

However, there are still plenty of points up for grabs, with New Zealand (third), England (fourth), Sri Lanka (fifth), South Africa (sixth), and Bangladesh (seventh) all still in contention for a spot in the one-off final.

Fans will have the opportunity to register their interest in tickets for the World Test Championship final, and ICC CEO Geoff Allardice expects high demand for the eagerly awaited contest.

“The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition,” Allardice said.

“It’s a testament to the enduring appeal of Test cricket, which continues to captivate fans around the world. Tickets will be in high demand so I would encourage fans to register their interest now to ensure they are in with a chance of attending the Ultimate Test next year.”

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Michigan star tight end Colston Loveland has been ruled out of Saturday’s game against No. 11 USC with an undisclosed injury.

Loveland suffered an apparent shoulder injury in last weekend’s win over Arkansas State. Michigan coach Sherrone Moore hasn’t specified the nature of the injury.

A preseason All-American, Loveland leads the Wolverines with 19 catches for 187 yards; no other Michigan pass catcher has more than nine receptions.

The No. 18 Wolverines also changed starting quarterbacks this week, moving from Davis Warren to Alex Orji. Warren had thrown six interceptions in three games, including three last weekend. He threw two picks in a 31-12 loss to Texas on Sept. 7.

Orji has only seven career passing attempts but has rushed for 58 yards in a relief role this season.

Moore said this week that he wants to see Orji “take the reins” of the Michigan offense with his opportunity.

“Excited for him,” Moore said. “I know he’s chomping at the bit.”

Pakistani-origin British pugilist Hamzah Sheeraz has defeated British boxer Tyler Denny to claim the Middleweight European Boxing championship.

Sheeraz entirely eclipsed his British opponent at London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening. The undefeated middleweight sent southpaw Denny to the canvas twice before overcoming him through technical knockout (TKO).

The first knockdown came with the help of a combination of right cross and left hook in the first round. Then, the winning boxer downed Denny once more in the second round with a powerful left hook. Referee Mark Bates declared the bout over and waved it off, despite the fact that Denny was able to stand again.

Experts believe Sheeraz’s height and arm length profoundly helped him keep his opponent at bay.

The Pakistani-origin boxer, a resident of London now, has remained undefeated raising the tally of his victories to 21-0 with this one.

In addition to winning Denny’s European title, the 25-year-old also won the Commonwealth and WBC ‘Silver’ titles.

33-year-old Denny, on the other hand, dropped to 19-3-3 and lost the strap. The defeat broke the English athlete’s six-fight winning streak.
