Aubrey Plaza recalls roommate era with Patti LuPone

Aubrey Plaza, Agatha All Along actress once almost got killed by her Marvel co-star Patti LuPone, back when they lived together.

Plaza reminisced about the time when she and LuPone were roommates and remembered on a recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers how they became “quick friends”, as the multi-Tony award winner was the one who motivated Plaza to try theatre.

In the conversation, Plaza recalled how she almost died at the hands of her roommate with a dose of Benadryl.

While they were living together for a few months, Aubrey Plaza fell seriously ill. LuPone, concerned for her health, suggested that Plaza see her personal nurse, named Joe.

Since LuPone was attending a gala that evening — which host Seth Meyers jokingly suggested sounded more like an “alibi” — the nurse arrived around 10:30 p.m. and set up an IV drip to give Plaza nutrients.

When Joe offered her the same sleep aid that LuPone uses Plaza agreed, though the nurse seemed hesitant. As he gave her the shot, Plaza realised it was a strong dose of Benadryl.

“It was like a horse tranquilliser for me. And she walked in when I was just mid tranquilliser and I couldn’t talk.”

Amid the panic, LuPone, still dressed in diamonds, hurried to make Plaza a snack of an English muffin with peanut butter, which she had to shove in her mouth.

Once the effects of the medication wore off and the nurse left, Plaza asked LuPone why the whole bizarre situation had even happened in the first place.

“And she went, ‘It’s happening because you are on the stage now and you need to toughen up. And that is why it’s happening,’” she said, mimicking LuPone’s speech. “And I understood everything about Hollywood in that very moment.”

Anna Delvey on elimination from ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Anna Delvey doesn’t seem too happy with her all-over “experience” of Dancing with the Stars, after being ousted from the dancing competition show.

The recently eliminated contestant got candid with co-host Julianne Hough, saying that she would be taking “nothing” with her from Season 33 of the ABC reality show, and she said this “because that was the truth.”

“You guys told me what I’m supposed to do. I tried to do it and then I still was rejected,” said Delvey, aka Anna Sorokin, on co-star Tori Spelling‘s misSPELLING podcast. “And, I’m taking away nothing. This is what I’m taking away from it, because your advice was worthless.

“The advice … did not pay off for me, even though I tried to follow it. And this is how I felt. I know… people were trying to interpret my answer in different ways, but no, not really. I really did not take away much from this experience.”

She added, “I think I had to be on the defensive, especially after all the backlash that I received being cast on the show, even though the producers [tried] to defend me. And I think everyone on the cast was generally very nice to me. But in the end, I don’t know.”

Delvey got eliminated with her and partner Ezra Sosa Week 2, along with Spelling and her partner Pasha Pashkov.

Getting eliminated this early in the show was “a bit upsetting” for her and participation, as she said, “felt like a waste of time … just to discard me so easily”.

“Because I felt like, well, they were building me up. It’s like, oh, well, ‘Only if you smile more, only if you do like XYZ. It’s going to be so much better for you.’ And it felt like they put so much effort trying to get me on the show, like, make me feel comfortable just to… eliminate me this early,” Delvey, who is a convicted fraudster, continued.

Jeff Bridges on his 2010’s Tron: Legacy look

Jeff Bridges got candid on his recreated young look in 2010’s Tron: Legacy.

“I wasn’t particularly fond of that recreation of myself,” he recalled during a conversation on a recent episode of Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, talking about the Joseph Kosinski sequel that used a still “new” de-aging process through computer scanning, recreating his rejuvenated look.

“I thought I looked more like Bill Maher than myself,” he added humorously.

The veteran and Tron actor also reminisced on the techniques used back then to create the neon digital world.

“It was shot in 70 millimetre black-and-white, hand-tinted by a bunch of ladies in Korea, I think,” he recalled.

“We had black duvetyne, it was this set with white adhesive tape on the thing. Everybody was encouraged to wear colourful clothes ’cause … our suits were all black, but you would go outside after a day’s work of being in that black-and-white atmosphere and — boom! — colour would just run into you.”

Bridges will return to his role of video game creator Kevin Flynn, in Tron: Ares starring Jared Leto, slated for release Oct. 10, 2025, in a cameo appearance.
