FIA bust human trafficking gang operated by Indians and Afghans

Lahore: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has dismantled a major international human trafficking network involving Indian and Afghan nationals.

According to agency’s spokesperson, gang was busted by Lahore Circle acting on sensitive agency tipoff. 

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi hailed the operation as a landmark achievement stating network had connections with various global criminal organizations.

The gang was found to have connections with individuals who had sought political asylum in different countries, receiving continued support from the group.

According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the traffickers operated a sophisticated printing press where they produced fake documents for numerous countries. These counterfeit documents were used to deceive individuals with promises of overseas employment, exploiting vulnerable people.

The FIA’s investigation has widened, and further arrests are anticipated as authorities continue to uncover the full extent of the network’s operations.

Bajur: A polio worker and a policeman were killed in an attack on a polio team in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, police said.

The polio team was attacked in Tehsil Mamond of Bajaur. Unknown people opened fire on the polio team, resulting in the deaths of polio worker Abu Hurairah, 25, and police officer Luqman, 33.
