Charlie Puth takes songwriting tips from Taylor Swift for upcoming album

Published

Charlie Puth and Taylor Swift have continued to show appreciation for each other throughout the years

Charlie Puth is venturing into new musical territory with his upcoming album, drawing inspiration from none other than Taylor Swift.

The 32-year-old musician, known for his catchy rhythms and clever chord changes, is focusing on enhancing his storytelling through more nuanced lyrics this time around.

In a recent interview with People Magazine, the We Don’t Talk Anymore hitmaker shared his creative process while discussing his partnership with BIC for the back-to-school season.

“You can expect what you always expect from me, which is chords and key changes and what I think are interesting kind of rhythms in production sense,” Puth explained, adding, “But I want to enhance the storytelling aspect, especially in the lyrics.”

Puth revealed that Swift played a significant role in his new direction. “Taylor Swift kind of nudged me to do that as well,” he said. “That’s how she approaches her songwriting and that’s how I’ll approach this next album.”

Though Swift and Puth have never met in real life, their love of music has brought them together over the years.

In April, Swift name-dropped Puth in the title track of her new album, The Tortured Poets Department.

The shout-out coincided with the release of Puth’s latest single, Hero — a departure from his previous work. Announcing the song on Instagram, Puth expressed gratitude to Swift for encouraging him to release it.

“I’ve never put out a song like this before — it’s very different for me, but I want to thank @taylorswift for letting me know musically that I just couldn’t keep this on my hard drive any longer,” he wrote.

Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend makes sad admission about heartbreak

Prince Harry’s former love interest Cressida Bonas paid a heartfelt tribute to a person close to her heart.

The English actress read a touching letter at the memorial service of her deceased sister Pandora Cooper-Key on Friday. Her sister passed away in July after battling cancer for 24 years.

According to GB News, Cressida was joined by Pandora’s family and friends at St Luke’s church in Chelsea, west London. Notably, the sad event was attended by Queen Camilla’s son, Tom Parker Bowles.

The model wore a pastel-coloured trouser suit as she read a “letter to Pandora” that she penned after her demise.

Previously, Cressida paid a moving tribute to her sister with a heartwarming note on her Instagram account.

Alongside the sisters’ memorable photos, she wrote, “…Then one day, I’ll remember you said in one of your final days, “I don’t know what all the fuss is about, I ain’t going nowhere…” And I’ll realise, I never had to look for you at all.”

“You were right here beside me all along, because, my darling sister, my heart is forever tied to yours. Pandora Cooper-Key ~ 1973-2024,” she added.

Dylan O’Brien recalls cringeworthy ‘Frozen 2’ audition experience

Dylan O’Brien recently appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers, where he shared a hilarious story about his failed audition for Frozen 2.

O’Brien confessed that he didn’t have high hopes for landing the role, saying, “I didn’t go in thinking I was going to get it because I knew that I probably wasn’t going to get it.”

He didn’t disclose which character he auditioned for but acknowledged that the film required multitalented individuals who could act and sing.

“They’re looking for multitalented, multi-hyphenate people who can act and sing,” O’Brien explained. “And I didn’t check, to be honest, probably either.”

The Teen Wolf alum admitted, “I can’t sing.”

Despite this, O’Brien decided to audition because he doesn’t “always feel like a real actor.”

Meyers wondered how long it took the casting director to realize singing wasn’t O’Brien’s forte.

“This poor woman,” O’Brien replied. “I remember, actually — this is a specific detail — she asked me, painfully, if I could get to the chorus because she needed to see if I had a certain range.”

O’Brien admitted he struggled with the first verse but attempted to reach the chorus.

“I was swimming in the first verse a little bit,” he said. “And then I went higher, and it was really bad.”

O’Brien recalled the casting director’s polite but clear rejection, “She said, ‘Thank you for coming in. I think we’d probably need a bit of a stronger singer,’ and I was already just nodding, going, ‘Yeah, I know.'”

Despite the embarrassing audition, O’Brien looks back on the experience fondly.

“I honestly only remember it fondly,” he said.

Meyers quipped, “We wanted you to have closure. Don’t you see, Dylan?”

O’Brien responded, “It’s made me comfortable, actually. I’m serious!”

Prince Harry reclaims spotlight from Prince William in new outing

Prince Harry paid a heartfelt tribute to a notable figure in his new public appearance, seemingly taking the spotlight from his brother Prince William after his Scotland trip.

For the unversed, the Duke of Sussex attended the star-studded event One805LIVE! Concert which was hosted by Kevin Costner. The program aimed to raise funds for the Santa Barbara County First Responders and also paid tribute to the police officials for saving people’s lives in need.

The former working royal took the stage of the event and honoured the helicopter pilot Loren Courtney.

As reported by People magazine, Harry said about the air support pilot, “As you’ve probably heard already, 22 years [of] military service over 10,000 hours and rarely sees his family because he’s always here flying helicopters.”

In response, he said, “I do this because I love doing it and I love doing it for the county of Santa Barbara. It’s a rewarding experience whenever we go out, either putting out fires or rescuing somebody in the back country or medical evacuations from vehicle accidents or doing the law patrol, keeping citizens safe.”

Notably, Harry’s appearance came after his estranged brother made the headlines due to his passion project Homewards.
