Simu Liu ignited a conversation about cultural appropriation after he appeared on the Canadian version of Shark Tank, Dragon’s Den.

Liu addressed the controversy of how Bobba, a bubble tea company, culturally appropriated an Asian drink. 

The Kim’s Convenience actor took to TikTok on October 13th, to talk about the bullying that had escalated online.

“I think we’re starting to lose the plot.” he said

He explained that people need to educate and spread awareness about what is acceptable and what is not through a cultural perspective.

“Let’s critique each other. Let’s critique this idea of cultural appropriation.” Simu stated.

“But what we’re not going to do is threaten people’s physical safety and make people feel unsafe and cause them trauma that, quite honestly, they don’t deserve as entrepreneurs who, in good faith, attempted to pitch a business.” he went on.

In the recent episode of Dragon’s Den, the company pitched their business to the judges to invest and explained that they have put their own spin on the traditional Taiwanese drink.

The 35-year-old actor didn’t seem too happy with the idea and said that it was borderline cultural appropriation.

The bubble tea company issued an apology statement on TikTok, expressed remorse for their actions and words, and stated they would learn more.

They also said they would re-evaluate their branding and marketing strategies to be more respectful and show a true and accurate representation of the bubble tea’s roots. 

Bianca Censori’s mother has recently made her first public appearance following disturbing comments from her son-in-law, Kanye West.

As reported by the Daily Mail, the Australian model’s mother Alexandra Censori was spotted in Melbourne, Australia on October 14, 2024.

For the outing, Alexandra donned a colourful mini dress, she completed her look by pairing her outfit with purple high heels.

This appearance of Bianca’s mother came after Kanye’s alleged lewd comments against her mother-in-law, regarding his inappropriate desires.

According to the claims, which were initially made by Yeezy founder’s former assistant Lauren Pisciotta, who filed a lawsuit against him in June this year. 

Lauren accused Kanye of sexual harassment and stalking during her employment from 2021 to 2022.

On October 11, an 88-page lawsuit went viral on social media in which the ex-employee made several disturbing new allegations against the rap star.

The claim which raised the concerns of fans was the indecent wish of Kanye against Bianca’s mother.

Previously, Lauren stated that the Runaway hitmaker allegedly sent her a screenshot of an explicit exchange between him and Bianca, where he expressed his desire to sleep with Bianca’s mother. 

However, the 29-year-old model has turned down the offer by declining it. 

For the unversed, recently, Bianca and Kanye sparked split rumours on October 7, 2024.

The Hollywood superstar has decided to ditch her launch events and magazine shoots for a fun trick or treat evening with her babies.

While talking to E! News, the Work singer admitted that she “built up the nerve to do trick or treating at strangers houses. We’re just going to have a fun night.”

The questioner asked her in a shocking manner: “Are you literally knocking on doors? Like you are knocking on doors with Riot and RZA… Are you serious?’

The second wealthiest female artist in Hollywood responded without hesitating: “I’m doing the whole thing. I’m actually going to learn to bake cookies because I want to make ghost cookies. If I get through that, I feel like I’ve won October.”

Rihanna, the mother of two revealed that she is trying to build new traditions for a little family.

“I’m trying to build new traditions for our little family that we built. Motherhood, wife-ish hood, and just being a homebody, I love it. I love to be a homemaker”, the 36-year-old singer continued.

Rihanna did share her fun plans with Rza and Riot, but she did not reveal anything about her Halloween costume.
