Dylan O’Brien recalls life-altering incident on set: ‘I’ve never forgotten’

Dylan O’Brien says there is ‘nothing wrong’ in saying, ‘No, man, I’m going to look after myself’

Dylan O’Brien opened up about the incident that altered the course of his life.

The 33-year-old actor shared that since his near-death experience on the set of Maze Runner, he has learned to stand up for himself.

“It’s taught me that, at the end of the day, in these spaces, you have your own back, and that’s the most you can rely on,” he told Men’s Health on Monday, October 7th.

“I know the person I am, and the character I bring to set, and the way I treat people and the way that I treat a workspace, and I know I’m not difficult. I know I’m not an a–hole,” said the Teen Wolf alum.

During the filming of the final instalment of the movie in Vancouver, the Maze Runner actor performed a stunt that threw him off a vehicle, causing a concussion and facial fracture, among other injuries. The movie was put on hold in 2016 because of the incident and resumed filming the next year.

“I know I was trying to protect myself that day, and so I’ve just never forgotten that,” O’Brien said of the unfortunate day.

He reflected that since the accident he’s “approached everything differently, particularly with regards to standing [his] ground on set.”

O’Brien continued, “It’s very commonplace in the culture for young actors to be controlled, [and] that’s achieved by telling the young performers not to become “difficult” or “a pain in the a–.”

The Bumblebee star gave an advice to the emerging actors, saying, “Don’t let them manipulate you into thinking that is being difficult, because I can look at that day and know I was a 24-year-old kid who was raising concerns about how we were approaching things, and they were not listened to, they were not respected, then what happened, happened.”

O’Brien shared that after 13 years into his career, he was able “to build this armour” for himself, but “it’s a shame that it had to be that for [him]”.

However, he now recognises that there’s “nothing wrong” in saying, “No, man, I’m going to look after myself, I’m going to take care of myself.”

Meghan Markle resumes plans after Prince Harry receives big news from UK

Meghan Markle is seemingly kickstarting after previously-scrapped plans after Prince Harry received major news from UK.

The Duke of Sussex, who marked his milestone 40th birthday last month, received a big pay cheque, tax free, from his late great-grandmother’s trust fund, which she set up back in 1994.

Harry has reported inherited about $10 million from the late Queen Mother and Meghan has seemingly decided to pack their bags for a big move, insiders revealed.

“Meghan was really pushing for a move to Malibu a year ago but then they had to put the brakes on that for cash flow issues,” a source told Closer magazine, adding that with Harry’s inheritance, the plan is “back on the table.”

The source went on to suggest that Meghan “always felt like a big fish in a small pond in Montecito, so it’s only a matter of time before she and Harry make good on her wish to up sticks to leave.”

Recently, British socialite and Meghan’s former pal made a remark about the former Suits actress at charity gala held by Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

“Meghan needs LA more than LA needs her,” she told The Mail.

The insider suggested that Harry and Meghan’s move to Malibu would ensure that they are not missing out on their connections.

“It would make it a lot easier to schmooze with the sort of people they need to cosy up to for the sake of Meghan’s brand.”

Meghan is currently running on deadline for her brand after she was issued a warning over trademarking her brand name, American Riviera Orchard.

The launch of the brand has reportedly been pushed back further and it remains to be seen if Meghan would be changing the name of her brand.

Chris Pine made his debut in ‘The Princess Diaries 2’ as Anne Hathaway’s love interest

Chris Pine left Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush dumbfounded with his revelations about his role in The Princess Diaries 3.

During his appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna, Pine, who made his debut in The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement as Nicholas Deveraux, a love interest for Anne Hathaway’s character Mia Thermopolis, told the hosts he is not sure whether he will return for the third instalment.

“I don’t know anything,” he simply responded to the question posed by the hosts of the fourth hour of NBC’s Today about his potential return to reprise the key role.

The co-hosts seemed incredulous, and Kotb reconfirmed, “You don’t know anything?” adding, “You are The Princess Diaries.”

Bush echoed her co-host, saying, “You have a major role!” After the hosting duo weighed in, noting that a third addition in the Princess Diaries universe without Pine wouldn’t be possible, he exclaimed, “Call Disney! Call Bob Iger!”

The daytime co-hosts were persistent in trying to get an answer, but the Star Trek alum reassured them that he really didn’t seem to have any idea about his involvement in the upcoming movie.

“Honestly, I don’t know anything about it. I think it’s fantastic,” Pine said of his casting, which is not yet confirmed, in the threequel, which is set to be directed by Adele Lim.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs files new appeal in high-stakes bail battle

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was taken into custody on September 17

Sean “Diddy” Combs is trying his luck once again to secure bail after being rejected twice.

On Tuesday, October 8, several news outlets, including Page Six, reported that the music mogul’s legal team filed a third appeal for bail with the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

This appeal challenges the previous decisions made by the Southern District of New York, which denied the 54-year-old rapper’s bail on two occasions based on allegations of obstruction of justice and witness tampering.

The three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper’s team requested his immediate release on the grounds of alleged insufficient evidence for incarceration and claimed errors in the court’s decision.

Prosecutors expressed concerns that releasing the founder of Bad Boy Records would result in him intimidating witnesses and obstructing the case if he were to be let out of jail.

Furthermore, they suggested he poses a flight risk, given his wealth and access to private jets.

For the unversed, Combs was taken into custody last month on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

He has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, awaiting his forthcoming trial.
