‘Joker: Folie à Deux’ takes advantage of Christopher Nolan’s exit from Warner Bros.?

Christopher Nolan feared that Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker would kill the uniqueness of Heath Ledger’s Joker

Joker: Folie à Deux, that turned to be a disaster among its fans and critics, seems to have taken advantage of the ace director Christopher Nolan’s withdrawal from Warner Bros.

Todd Phillips’ Joker 2 ending has something which could never have happened if Nolan’s was the director of the film.

The movie has a mix of a lot of courtroom drama, musical, and fantasy. Out of all these qualities, nothing interlocks well with each other and at last, the ending makes it even worse.

Arthur Fleck, played by Joaquin Phoenix, meets a tragic end when he is killed by one of his asylum inmates. After killing the Joker, the inmate than carves a smile onto his own face pitching the idea that a new joker might arise or possibly the original joker is here now.

Now that Nolan’s is no longer part of the franchise, the makers of Joker: Folie à Deux freely did whatever they wanted to do with the original concept of the character.

In the 2019 Joker, the makers showed Fleck carving the joker smile on his face which somehow faded the impact of Heath Ledger’s legacy.

Meanwhile, the Batman Begins director, who coined the iconic character of Joker with Heath Ledger, believed that Ledger’s version should be the only one that should abide.

According to him, Phoenix’s Joker would kill the uniqueness of the Ledger’s Joker, reported Collider.

It turns out, Nolan was not wrong completely. Even the viewers believed that the film defied the legacy of the character of Joker.

Todd Phillips’ Joker: Folie à Deux expected to make good money just like its forerunner, but it turned out to be a nightmare in cinemas.
