Selena Gomez’s mom shares one downside of star’s fame

Selena Gomez’s mother got candid on how she has to skip some public fun because of her daughter’s fame, which they used to do in the past, before all the glamour.

“We used to go to Target and just hang out at Target and just shop and do silly things, but you can’t do that anymore,” Mandy Teefey opened up to Glamour in an interview for 2024 Women of the Year issue.

The “Wondermind” co-founder and CEO also recounted how she and Gomez have had to sneak into Disneyland since her daughter’s stardom, and can’t use the public entrance.

“You have to go in the back where all the mechanical things are, and you don’t really get to go through the park. You do miss out on that,” the 48-year-old explained the experience.

Big names, like Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, also shared what the songstress’ daughters have to let go of because of all the public recognition.

“I miss us going to the grocery store, going with my kids to eat at the cafeteria. You don’t get to go to the mall anymore,” said in the interview, which mainly focused on mothers who have raised the stars of the current era.

David Henrie recalls being ‘afraid’ to direct Mel Gibson

David Henrie revealed why he “was very much afraid” of Mel Gibson.

“I was afraid to work with Mel. How do you direct an Oscar-winning director?” Henrie shared with Us Weekly of his directorial debut, Monster Summer, starring Gibson.

“I have heard horror stories about friends of mine working with big celebrities — not Mel, other big celebrities — and having really tough times not being able to direct that very large, well-known celebrity because they’ve done it, they know what they’re doing and they’re not going to take directions from a kid.”

He continued, “So I was very much afraid that that [working with Mel] was going to be that.”

However, the concerns went away pretty soon, as the 68-year-old actor proved to be the “exact opposite”. Henrie gushed that directing the Braveheart actor was “so freaking cool”, as he acted as a support, being the only adult on the cast amongst teens.

Set to release in theaters on Friday, October 4, Monster Summer tells the story of Noah (Mason Thames) and his friends, whose fun-filled summer on Martha’s Vineyard takes a turn when they encounter a mysterious force.

Determined to protect their island, the group teams up with Gene (Gibson), a reclusive former police detective, for a thrilling adventure to uncover the truth and save their island.

“The kids kind of woke up a young side of him,” Henrie said of Gibson, who hasn’t starred a children’s movie since 1995’s Pocahontas.

“This is a newer thing for him, [and] he was having fun. He’s like, ‘This is different. I can have fun. I can be a kid again.’ And you sense that from him.”

Eva Longoria reminisced her time on Desperate Housewives on the show’s 20th anniversary with a throwback

“20 years of Desperate Housewives!! I get so emotional thinking about how this show changed everything for me. So many memories, so many episodes (we used to film 24 episodes a season back then!), and so many iconic outfits,” the actress wrote in the caption of an Instagram post, which had a carousel of pictures from behind-the-scenes, from all the years of the show’s filming.

“Everything I know about filmmaking and TV I learned on that show. I’m so grateful for my forever mentor, Marc Cherry, and for the women who took me under their wing and showed me the way #DesperateHousewives.”

Longoria portrayed the character of Gabrielle Solis, a former model who transitions into the life of a housewife. Discontent with her marriage, her character sparks controversy when she starts an affair with her young gardener, portrayed by Jesse Metcalfe.

Longoria also answered a question to ET Canada, regarding her return to the show, if a reboot happened.

“Of course! Who wouldn’t do it?” she said. ”I loved Gabby Solis. I miss Gabby Solis,” adding, “I would always love to be in Gabby’s shoes again.”

Hailie previously admitted she ‘sobbed’ listening to ‘Temporary’

Eminem is going to be a grandpa!

The legendary rapper’s oldest daughter Hailie Jade, 28 is expecting her first child with husband Evan McClintock, with whom she tied the knot in May 2024.

Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem, 51, revealed the happy news via the music video for Temporary, his latest homage to Hailie featuring bittersweet lyrics.

The touching video is filled with personal moments, showcasing home video clips of Eminem and Hailie over the years. It even includes scenes from Hailie’s wedding earlier this year, including the sweet moment Eminem saw Hailie in her wedding dress and teared up.

But the most memorable part comes around the 4:05 mark, when Hailie surprises her dad with a Detroit Lions jersey emblazoned with “Grandpa” on the back. As if that wasn’t enough, she then hands him an ultrasound picture, capturing his shocked reaction.

Temporary, featuring Skylar Grey, marks the fourth single off of Eminem’s album The Death of Slim Shady, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard albums chart in July.

“I audibly sobbed,” she admitted.

Matthew Broderick not appearing on Sarah Jessica Parker’s hit series

Matthew Broderick has recently explained why he never joined wife Sarah Jessica Parker on Sex and the City.

During an appearance on the latest episode of This Life of Mine with James Corden on Sirius XM, Matthew reflected on his acting career and his marriage to Sex and the City’s lead star.

Responding to a question about why he never appeared on the hit series, the Cable Guy actor said, “Whenever there was a part that I could do, I couldn’t do it is really all that happened.”

“But also sometimes, it was like, ‘Do you want to do two days as the premature ejaculator?’ And I’d be like, ‘You know, I don’t know, it’s just kind of embarrassing,’” stated the 62-year-old.

When James asked whether Sarah would come home and present Matthew with various roles, the Painkiller actor replied, “No, they were very professional.”

“I wish that I had done it or been in it,” he admitted.

Elsewhere in the interview, Matthew shared the reason that he was mindful to let his wife Sarah keep the show for herself.

“That was her thing, and that would be stunting me or something, I don’t know,” he noted.

Matthew added, “It just never work worked out. I love that show and I would have been delighted to be in it, but it just never lined up right.”
